Expat Woes

There are perks to living abroad. That’s undeniable. Traveling, experiencing other cultures firsthand, eating exotic food is amazing. I’m not going to lie, the ability to live and work in another country is something many people will never experience and so I feel very lucky. However, sometimes I have feelings of intense jealousy for my fellow Americans living NOT abroad and experiencing American things that I am unable to get here in Singapore.

Like, a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. I know you think I’m silly but if you know me AT ALL you know that I adore the holidays and half of that adoration comes from enjoying the particularly special treats that come with the season.

But I’m willing to make lemonade. Or rather, I’m willing to find the closest alternative and fill the house with that artificial cinnamon smell…
